SLS Camera for Paranormal Investigations

The Paranormal Field Kit SLS Camera gives investigators a camera-based visual scanning tool for exploring rooms, objects, doorways, hallways, and other areas of interest. It displays a live camera view with an SLS-style landmark overlay so you can watch for figure-like patterns and preserve anything you want to examine later.

The tool is built for field use. You can turn the phone flashlight on or off, capture a still image, record video, and add a light timestamp overlay to saved media. Photos and videos stay connected to the investigation session, making it easier to compare a visual event with notes, audio, Spirit Messages, or sensor activity from the same period.

What the SLS Camera Does

The SLS Camera analyzes the live camera view and displays visual landmark patterns over shapes that meet its recognition criteria. This creates an SLS-style investigation view that can help direct attention to areas worth checking from another angle.

This is a camera-based feature, not a dedicated structured-light depth camera. A landmark overlay can be caused by furniture, shadows, reflections, fabric, artwork, partial human figures, or other visual patterns. It should be treated as an observation to document and test, not automatic proof of a person or paranormal presence.

How to Use the SLS Camera

  1. Open SLS Camera from the Paranormal Field Kit dashboard.
  2. Allow camera access when Android requests it.
  3. Hold the phone steady or mount it in a fixed position.
  4. Slowly scan the room and allow the camera to settle before evaluating an overlay.
  5. Use the flashlight control when the room needs additional illumination.
  6. Turn the timestamp option on if you want the capture time placed on the saved image or video.
  7. Tap the photo button for a still image or start video recording when you want to preserve a longer event.
  8. Review captured media from the tool or its associated session in the archive.

What Paranormal Investigators Use It For

Investigators can use the SLS Camera to:

  • Scan rooms and reported areas of activity.
  • Watch a doorway, hallway, staircase, chair, bed, or other fixed area.
  • Document figure-like visual patterns for later review.
  • Compare the same area from multiple angles.
  • Recreate a result under different lighting conditions.
  • Correlate a visual event with an EVP marker, investigator note, Spirit Message, or sensor change.
  • Capture reference footage before and after an investigation.

The most useful result is one that can be tested. If an overlay repeatedly appears around the same object, change the camera angle, lighting, and distance. If it disappears or shifts with those changes, the comparison may help explain what the camera was recognizing.

Photos, Videos, and Timestamps

The SLS Camera supports both photo and video capture. Media created by the investigator is stored with the active session and can also be saved to the phone for viewing in the device gallery. The optional timestamp is designed to remain light and unobtrusive so it does not cover the main subject of the image.

Keeping the media connected to the session provides valuable context. Instead of reviewing a clip with no explanation, you can see when it occurred and compare it with the rest of the investigation timeline.

Use It With Other Paranormal Tools

Run the Investigator Log alongside the SLS Camera to document what was happening when a visual pattern appeared. You can also use the EVP Recorder during a camera session so important visual and audio moments can be compared later.

Compatible Paranormal Field Kit tools can remain active together, helping one investigator operate the camera while another logs observations or monitors audio.

Tips for Better SLS Camera Sessions

  • Move slowly and pause before judging an overlay.
  • Clean the camera lens before beginning.
  • Watch for mirrors, glass, reflective metal, hanging fabric, and high-contrast artwork.
  • Avoid rapid flashlight movement, which can create changing shadows.
  • Recheck a result from a second angle and distance.
  • Capture the surrounding scene, not only the overlay.
  • Record normal environmental explanations in the Investigator Log.
  • Preserve original media before editing or enhancing a copy.

Add Visual Documentation to Your Investigation

Scan reported areas, capture photos and video, and keep visual evidence organized with the rest of your session.

SLS Camera FAQ

Does the SLS Camera need internet access?

No. The SLS Camera works offline after the app is installed.

Can it take both photos and videos?

Yes. You can capture still images or record video from the SLS Camera and review the media with the associated session.

Can I use the phone flashlight?

Yes. A flashlight control is available when the phone supports it and the camera configuration allows it.

Does an SLS overlay prove that something paranormal is present?

No. The overlay identifies camera patterns that may be worth documenting and testing. Ordinary objects, lighting, reflections, and partial figures can also produce landmarks.
