Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Paranormal Field Kit ("Paranormal Field Kit," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Paranormal Field Kit Android application (the "App"), visit paranormalfieldkit.app (the "Website"), or contact us for support.

Paranormal Field Kit is designed to keep investigation records under your control. The App does not require an account and does not contain advertising or analytics SDKs. Most App features work offline. Estes Session requires an internet connection to locate and play live radio streams.

1. Information Handled by the App

The App may create or access the following information when you choose to use the related features:

  • Session names, custom location labels, notes, timestamps, event markers, and investigation timelines.
  • Optional GPS coordinates and a nearby city, state, or place label when you select Use exact current location.
  • Readings from sensors supported by your phone, which may include magnetic field, air pressure, ambient light, proximity, motion, vibration, and ambient air temperature.
  • Photos and silent videos captured with SLS Camera.
  • Private event clips created by Static Watch.
  • Audio recordings and markers created with EVP Recorder.
  • Estes Session settings, sweep events, and words or phrases you choose to mark.
  • App settings and preferences stored on your device.

This investigation content is stored locally in the App's private storage. We do not receive it through an App-operated server.

2. Device Permissions

Paranormal Field Kit requests permissions only when they are needed for a feature you choose to use.

Camera

Camera access is used for SLS Camera and Static Watch. Live camera frames are processed on the device. SLS Camera uses on-device visual analysis to display landmark-style overlays. Static Watch maintains a short private video buffer while armed so a confirmed visual change can retain an event clip containing approximately three seconds before and three seconds after the event.

Temporary Static Watch buffer files are discarded. Retained Static Watch event clips remain private inside the App unless you open a clip and choose to save or share it. Photos and videos that you deliberately capture with SLS Camera are stored with the session and may also be saved to the Paranormal Field Kit album on your phone.

Camera videos are recorded without microphone audio so camera-based tools can be used alongside EVP Recorder when the device supports that combination.

Microphone

Microphone access is used only after you start recording in EVP Recorder. A recording may continue while you open another compatible field tool. It stops when you press Stop or end the EVP session.

Location

Foreground location access is optional. It is requested only when you choose to use your current location for session details or when you start an Estes Session.

If you select Use exact current location, the App may use Android's location and geocoding services to obtain coordinates and create a nearby place label. That information is stored in the local session record and leaves the App only if you later export or share the session.

Estes Session may use a foreground location fix to request radio streams near your area. This Estes location is not automatically added to your investigation record.

You can type a custom location without granting location permission. You can also deny or revoke permissions through Android settings, although the related features may then be unavailable.

Storage

On Android versions that require it, the App may request storage permission when you choose to save media outside the App. Newer Android versions use the system media and file interfaces without a general storage permission.

Internet and Network State

Internet and network-state access are used by Estes Session to locate and play live radio streams. These permissions do not create Android runtime prompts. The App's core investigation tools do not require internet access.

3. Information Transmitted to Third Parties

The App does not transmit investigation notes, EVP recordings, camera media, Spirit Messages results, or sensor timelines to us. Limited information may be transmitted in the following situations.

Estes Session and Radio Services

Estes Session uses the community-operated Radio Browser directory to locate live radio streams. When you start an Estes Session, the App may send your current latitude and longitude to a Radio Browser server to request streams in your general area. If location is unavailable or not granted, the directory request may use your device's regional settings instead.

The App then connects to selected radio-station streaming servers. Radio Browser and station operators receive standard network information needed to provide the connection, such as your IP address, request time, App user-agent string, and technical request details. These services operate independently and may maintain their own logs and privacy practices.

The App uses encrypted HTTPS connections for the station directory and accepts encrypted HTTPS station streams. No account, advertising ID, investigation notes, audio recordings, photos, or videos are sent to these radio services.

Radio Browser information is available at radio-browser.info.

Google Play

Google Play processes App purchases, installations, updates, license access, reviews, and related transaction information under Google's own terms and privacy policy. We do not receive your complete payment-card information. Google may provide developers with purchase records, order identifiers, country or region information, crash information generated by Google Play services, and aggregated store performance reports.

User-Initiated Saving, Sharing, and Exporting

When you save media to your phone, share an individual file, email a session, or export an investigation-day folder, the App gives the selected file to Android's system file picker or share sheet. You choose the destination, receiving application, and recipient.

Once you send a file to an email provider, cloud-storage provider, messaging app, social network, or another person, that recipient handles the file under its own privacy practices. We do not control copies you choose to create or share.

Feedback Email and Google Play Reviews

If you choose to send feedback, the App opens an email application and prepares a message to our support address. The message is not sent until you choose to send it. If you choose to leave a Google Play review, Google handles the review and associated account information.

4. Website Information

You can browse the Website without creating a Paranormal Field Kit account.

Our web host, security provider, domain provider, or content-delivery provider may automatically process limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the Website, such as:

  • IP address.
  • Browser and device type.
  • Operating system.
  • Requested pages and referring page.
  • Date, time, and approximate region.
  • Security, error, and server-log information.

The Website may use cookies or similar local-storage technologies that are strictly necessary for security, traffic routing, accessibility, or basic site operation. Paranormal Field Kit does not use App investigation data for website advertising.

If you email us or submit information through a Website contact form, we receive the information you provide, such as your name, email address, message, and any attachments. Please do not send investigation files or sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your support request.

5. How We Use Information

We use information only as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide App and Website functionality.
  • Save and organize investigation sessions on your device.
  • Process the permission-based feature you requested.
  • Locate and play live radio for Estes Session.
  • Respond to support requests and feedback.
  • Diagnose technical problems and protect the Website from abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use App investigation content to create advertising profiles.

6. Local Storage, Retention, and Deletion

App Data

Sessions, timelines, settings, and private media remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup.

You can delete an individual session and its private media or delete an investigation-day folder from Session Archive. Uninstalling the App removes its private local data.

Files you deliberately saved to the phone's gallery, Downloads folder, cloud storage, email, or another application are separate copies. Deleting an App session or uninstalling the App does not delete those external copies. Delete them through the receiving Photos, Gallery, Files, email, cloud-storage, or sharing application.

Because the App has no user accounts and we do not receive your locally stored investigation records, we cannot remotely view, retrieve, or delete those records for you.

Support and Website Data

We retain support correspondence and Website records only for as long as reasonably necessary to respond, maintain security, resolve disputes, comply with law, and keep appropriate business records. Hosting and infrastructure providers may retain technical logs according to their own retention schedules.

You may request deletion of personal information you sent directly to us by emailing support@paranormalfieldkit.app. We may retain information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. App investigation records are kept in private application storage, excluded from Android backup, and transmitted outside the App only when required for a feature or when you choose to save, export, or share them.

No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device with a screen lock, keep Android updated, and review files before sharing them, especially when a session includes a private location, a person's voice, or images recorded on private property.

8. Children's Privacy

Paranormal Field Kit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can:

  • Decline or revoke camera, microphone, and location permissions through Android settings.
  • Enter a custom location instead of using GPS.
  • Use the core field tools without internet access.
  • Delete sessions and private media from Session Archive.
  • Delete exported or gallery copies from the application where they were saved.
  • Choose whether to send feedback, post a review, save media, or share an export.
  • Contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you sent directly to us.

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide additional rights. We may need to verify your request before acting on it. We will not discriminate against you for exercising a legally protected privacy right.

10. International Use

The Website and third-party radio services may be operated from or process information in countries other than your own. Data-protection laws may differ between jurisdictions. App investigation records remain on your device unless you choose a feature or export that sends them elsewhere as described in this policy.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App, Website, legal requirements, or third-party services change. We will revise the Last updated date when we make changes. Material changes may also be communicated through the App, Website, or Google Play listing when appropriate.
